Who am I?
Hey there, I'm Vlad Milosevic, although my real name is Vladimir. In the summer of 2005, I created PhotoStand with Gabriel Boisseau, a colleague and friend. At the moment, I'm residing in Canada's capital region and am a full-time student with one year of high school left. I got into computers because of Gab.
How I got into this world
One day in school, we were making these very horrible websites(and I'm not exaggerating) and I went to see Gab and his site was looking really good(for that time). So, little by little, he showed me how he did it and that's when I started playing with XHTML, CSS and JavaScript. Later on, we both had a couple of web-based projects which we merged at one point and then completely abandoned because it just wasn't for us anymore. Well, there was just no innovation.
The story of Photostand
After some time, I started getting into the whole photoblogging thing. One blog that I often read was, Un Grain de sel, which, unfortunately, is now dead. One day, Niels(the guy behind that photoblog) started a discussion about how there was no script that really made a difference for photobloggers. As time went by, we contacted Niels, and along the road, he made a couple of logos for us. In fact, the Photostand logo was made by him. And after that, Gab and I got to work and we built the first version of Photostand. For two guys who had never done anything of the sort, it was something huge for us. As time went by, we made other versions which corrected the bugs and flaws that we had found. And right now, the version 1.2 is the best yet. We have really put a lot of time into it and we hope it'll show. So, what does the future hold for Photostand? You ain't seen nothin' yet. ;)
What I did/do/hope to do
To quote Faruk Ateş, I am "involved in more projects than I can generally remember." And I'm not just saying that. But most of them have been either shut down or abandoned due to the lack of time or interest. Right now, I'm working on, you guessed it, Photostand. I'm also working at Kreativ Studios, a little multimedia agency that I run with Gabriel Boisseau. For the future, I have many projects in mind such as starting Ottawa Photobloggers(I don't know how many people have encourages me to do this), restart posting articles/photos on my photoblog, a new French blog, and I've always wanted to do a site on feeds(RSS & Atom). But since the future hasn't been planned, I may do everything on the list or none at all.
